Who all do you tip? Beyond waitstaff, hair dressers, etc.?

Who DON'T you tip? Where do you draw the line?Who all do you tip? Beyond waitstaff, hair dressers, etc.?
I drop a dollar in the jar on the counter if the service is good when I buy my coffee, or if I stop for a pizza, I'll do the same. I tip service people, those whose salary is dependent on tips, and who would be hurting without them. I would not tip someone who installed my cable, or a mechanic who fixed my car. Those are expensive services, and those guys are paid a salary.Who all do you tip? Beyond waitstaff, hair dressers, etc.?
I didn't know this, but you tip Sky Captains at the curb. I have never used a Sky Captain, but as I saw the two people in front of me tip, I figured it out quickly. I think someone mentioned this, but you should tip bartenders and musicians at certain restaurants.

I dont know how tipping culture came into existence in USA. Its not there in Europe and other continents. Ultimately its the owners of the hotel get benifitted. Why should some one pay? Why cant the hotel employ full time servers. God only knows.

Don't forget about tipping your massage therapist! No one seems to know how little spas pay and how much therapists rely on tips.

Always, always tip your paper carrier! They deliver in rain, shine, snow, sleet. You name it. Usually these kids are giving up sleeping in on Saturdays. In addition, if you eat at a place where they custom make anything to your tastes (ie: Subway, Starbucks. etc.)

Besides a sit down restaurant or maybe Valet service or free airport shuttles, I will almost never tip in a tip jar or anything. The one exception is a little Turkish restaurant down the street, and that is b/c their prices are dirt cheap and they give you a lot of food and are very friendly people.

always, always, tip the pizza delivery drivers. the price of gas alone is one reason to tip them. A good tip for the delivery drivers is between $3.00 and $8.00. Considering the price of a gallon of gas is over $3.00 per gallon $4.00 should be the minimum tip regardless of service and the price.

I am a hairdresser and I know that a lot of people do not tip, or dont know what to give as a tip. In general I tell them to tip me like they would a waiter. I tip everryone that I can, I believe that what goes around comes around, and I will leave a bad tip for poor service!!!

I tip according to the service given! If a waitress has a bad attitude or I never see her then I usually won't leave a tip. As a furniture and appliance delivery man I would like to see more tips. I make sure I go above and beyond. Unfortunately we rarely see a tip.

I work as a gondolier at the Venetian resort in Las Vegas. We sing, entertain and provide guests with an experience they will never forget. Plus we get taxed on those tips and in Vegas, a tip could be the difference between an OK experience and one you'll remember for the rest of your life.

I am a floral designer and occasionally get tips from regular customers, which helps me remember them and treat them especially well the next time I see them. I also do a lot of weddings, and really appreciate a tip because it is nice for my hard work and attention to detail to be recognized.

If you tip your hair dresser, why not tip your dog groomer? If you can sit still and don't try to pee on or bite your stylist, exactly how deserving of a tip is she/he? I always try to imagine what a service entails and the attitude I'm presented as a customer.

So I am carpenter. I make between $15-30 hr. So if everyone deserves a tip why is it no one would consider tipping me.

most of the time, if someone is serving you, you should tip them. I have been a waitress for 10 years and as far as restaurants, I expect 20% and that is usually what I get if not more. Servers make 4.30 an hour in New York anyway and work very hard for the money.

i tip people in public places like pizza hut and such the need the tips. i always tip the delivery person who comes to my house. i deliver pizza's myself and with gas prices, if i have a bad day of tips, i actually make less money for doing my job than i would if i just worked in the kitchen.

You should always tip your dog groomer- even a little goes along way and they do appreciate it- they really don't make very much for how much time and effort goes into it!

I also tip the baggers in the grocery store.

I dont tips much. I think that a company should pay correctly and not be cheap and depend on the customers. We pay enough for our items we get.

However i do occassionally tip my car mechicanic because he is really good and honest and gets me in when hes too busy really. He also gives a break on some things for us. We used him for many years. Maybe he gets a pack of cigars or a few dollars
