How much do you tip a hair dresser?

It depends, how good did she do your hair? How much do you tip a hair dresser?
I got to a expensive Hairdresser cause I want my hair to be Good and not ruined.

I usually pay them 110$ To get my hair cut and washed and also Died.

But to get it cut I pay 70$.

I tip them around 15$ cause When I wait to long (they take a long time

just to cut my hair) they order pizza or something for free lolHow much do you tip a hair dresser?
It depends the way they are. If they're slow or mean and rude then I would tip then 3-5. And it also depends what type of hairstyle your getting. If you get something that takes long to do then I would tip them 5-10 [AND THAT'S NOT CHEAP]
You should tip them on if they actually like listened and followed what you told them to do. Also its up to you how much $ they deserve.
Industry standard is 10-20% of your service, not including products you purchase.
15%
ur suppose to tip them by how you feel. If the did a crappy job low tip also you don't have to tip major unless it took hours and hard work to do. For a simple hair cut 5 bucks would be sufficient.
depends what you're having done. getting coloured or a perm or extensions usually requires a bigger tip than just a haircut since it takes a lot more time and effort. i usually try to give 10-15%, if they did a good job. if they did crappily, i usually don't give anything (and i don't feel bad about cuz i for sure won't be seeing them again if they did a bad job)
5bucks
if your at a salon 10 dollars if your at a barber shop 5 dollars
really ppl tip them ? , i had no idea they charge so much already .

  • Question for hair dressers.?

I'm a guy with relatively short hair, and it's somewhat curly. What can i or a hairdresser do to make it straight. Obviously a straightening iron wouldn't work for this length of hair. Is there any other kind of way to straighten hair?Question for hair dressers.?
..i do know u can use a (perm as a ) hair straightener Just reverse the perm.. by that I mean instead of using rods to Perm apply the solution and leave it on your hair for about 10 Min's comb it and it should be straight rince well..

Can being a hair dresser be a lucrative endeavor right now in Oklahoma?

On average how much does a pretty good hair dresser make yearly?

It depends on your area.. are you rural or in a metro area. I choose not to disclose how much I make personally, but I know a lot of people that make anywhere from $65,000- $125,000. but that will come with time. Starting out dont expect to be banking 6 figures. Get all the experience and training you can, Assist, and Intern. The pay may suck , but it will be worth it in the end. Also check out some of the DVD's to expand and advance your craft.

    A question for hair dressers!?

Is it true that Fairy Liquid strips dye from your hair?

I am trying to fade this dark colour on my hair, no amount of shampoo is working.

If i use fairy liquid will it turn it a funny colour? and will it horrifically damage the condition?A question for hair dressers!?
It has been said that fairy liquid will help to strip dyed hair colour. I've personally tried this, and I noticed no significant difference. The best thing to help hair colour fade is a shampoo for dandruff, I found that Neutrogena T-Gel worked the best. But, it is not a nice shampoo to use, because it is a hideous brown in colour, has a gloopy consistency and I hated the smell of the stuff. It made more of a difference that fairy liquid, but not a huge amount. I ended up bleaching the dark colour out and dying back over it with a lighter brown, followed by loads of conditioning treatments in attempt to repair the damage.A question for hair dressers!?
Yes it does work eventually but its no made for the hair so it could damage your hair! To be honest I would use an anti dandruff shampoo instead this will also fade the colour if you use it every time you wash your hair for about 3 weeks.

However If you want a faster more professional approach use RUSK ELIMIN8 color correcter heres the website for you to read about it.

    http://www.rusk1.com/products/elimin8.as/a>
I have never heard of fairy liquid, but if it strips dye from hair then it is bleach, because only bleach will get dye out. Use a cleansing shampoo and wash it in very hot water, this will help fade it, and don't use conditioner, that will only help hold the color in.
My sister is a hairdresser and she has used Daz non-bio the soap powder to fade dark colours from hair and it strips the colour very quickly. Another way to fade out colour is head and shoulders anti dandruff shampoo.
    NOOO.

    Dont use it.

    Use this http://www.loreal-paris.co.uk/haircare/women/elvive-re-nutrition.aspx
We always traditionally used Vosene; I have tried using Head %26amp; Shoulders instead but Vosene beats it. Fairy Liquid is bit harsh though!
    Use angel dust instead.

HELP!';!!!! Hair dressers out there i need ur help !!!!?

i got my hair dyed saturday brown with a t/bar with red!!! i just had a bath there now and the water is red!!! is that amount of hair dye suppose to wash out, and there is some red on my shirt now as well from drying my hair!!!!!red is still in the hair at the front but cant tell if its still in it in the back!!! any way is it normal!!!!1HELP!';!!!! Hair dressers out there i need ur help !!!!?
this happens and is normal. Buy a shampoo and conditioner for coloured hair it will preserve the colour longer. Elvive is good. Good luckHELP!';!!!! Hair dressers out there i need ur help !!!!?
Yes, the first wash will always be a bit red - I dye my hair copper, and the first wash will defintely show red. I always make sure that I leave it wrapped up in an older or coloured towel for a while, and not wear my nice shirt straightaway. After a couple of washes it'll settle down.
Yes it is normal for red hair dye to frequently run. It will lessen but it never stops washing out when shampooing your hair. That is the problem with red hair dyes, they run and fade a lot more quickly then other hair colours. My friend used to dye parts of her hair red, but gave up after a few months because she had to keep re-doing every 2-3 weeks or so because it would fade to the point that it became orange.
of course its normal at my sallon some people come and get there hair dyed and then funky stuff like that happens but there could be two problems ussually the cause for this is way to much hair dye or that you washed your hair too soon just a while and your hair will be fine and .I cant have my hair dyed because my hair gets very stiff and thats because my hair isnt used to the dye.

    hope this helps!
Im no stylist but i can say is get sum color protector it a little tube u put in ur applicator bottle it will keep from fading
Believe me ...its always like that on your first WASH I DYE MY HAIR BLACK AND ITS LIKE OH NO ALL MY HAIR DYE IS GONE NO ITS NOT BUT JUST SO YOU KNOW IT WILL BLEED UNLESS YOU SCRUB YOUR ROOTS REALLY GOOD
Some color will wash out for a couple of shampoos, but it really should only be enough to tint the suds of the shampoo you use, not to stain your shirt. They should have shampooed it out of your hair MUCH better than they did!!! Reds do fade much more than other colors, but if I were you I would let them know about your shirt and see what they will do for you. I know I would want to know if I messed up like that or if one of my stylists did something like that. Also you should make sure you are using a good shampoo for color treated hair because some shampoos will strip the color from your hair much faster than others. I wish you luck!
    i have no clu
Red hair color molecules are the smallest color molecules. It is normal for this color to fade. But, if you had a permanent color done there should be very little color coming out in the bath. If it was a semi-permanent color then a lot of color is not so unusual.
it is natural for the first few washes for it to run red i,m sure if you can see the red in the front of your hair it will still be in the back
    red hair always run
completely normal especially for red dye. red fades, and sometimes turns brown. use a shampoo for color treated hair.
sorry, reds fade terribly they usually look kind of brownish after as little as 3 weeks depending on haircolor product and strength of developer used.

you say you had a bath. did you lie down in tub submersing head? the application of hot water will leech the color out like crazy, the heat opens cuticle . hot tubs and swimming pools too

in the future, to maintain red the best, shampoo/condition infrequently with cool water. color enhanced products can extend life of reds
    this is normal!!!

colourist has most likely used too much dye! if she didnt explain this to you u could maybe speak to her and get your hairdo cheaper the next time!!!

PS next time try not to wash your hair for a good few days to let the colour settle(just the same as when you have a perm!!) and remember to use a shampo/cond. for colour treated hair, salon performance ones are best doll!! maybe worth investing in a good colour treatment too!!

ask your stylist about it!! x
go back to the place where you had the color done they should

be able to tell you best.also have them send your blouse to the cleaners.

Have you ever asked a hair dresser to cut your hair an ich and they cut it like five?

This is why I am afraid of cutting my hair. I just need a trim but I am scared that they will cut it all off! Has something like that ever happend to you??Have you ever asked a hair dresser to cut your hair an ich and they cut it like five?
I'm scared to cut my hair for that reason also - that is EXACTLY what happened to me the last time I asked for an inch off.Have you ever asked a hair dresser to cut your hair an ich and they cut it like five?
    Yes, it has..

Point to exactly where you want to cut it! I remember reading that from somewhere.
yes.. i hate it..they want to do what they think will look good..but then they always give u a style you cant do..lol..now when i go i make sure they dont cut much off by watching them closely and me telling the stylist all the time..
YES! i know exactly how you feel!

they always cut more than asked for!

just tell them you want 2cm off or sth.
Nope, not yet and I don't plan that it will either. : )

Anyways, tips on getting your hair cut, don't cross your legs is screws up your posture, be realistic, bring pictures, show how much you want cut off with your hand.

You could always get a friend or a family member to trim your hair for you, since your not actually getting your hair cut into a different style, any who, hairdressers may cut your hair shorter so it grows out, but if you're trying to grow your hair long or keep it long tell that to the hairdresser it makes all the difference. Hopes this helps and good luck with you trim.
yes my hair was past my butt then i said four inches and they cutit to my shoulders i was pissed so just say

    2 instead of 4

    1 instead of 2

    1/2 instead of 1

    etc.
Yep.. have had that experience when I was around 17. Ended up with what looked like a crew cut to me!

Have had prolly 4 ';Pro'; cuts since then. I'm 56 and trim my own hair by myself.

Just trim the split ends, cut bangs if you want to (If they don't look good, they'll grow back in)\
That's because you need to show the hair stylist exactly how you want it -visually-!

    Hair stylists are visuals.
yeaa ! when i was little i remember my aunt said to the hair dresser ';dont cut it short too much or else she'll cry'; and then the person ended up cutting off so much! i was so sad and regretted gettin gmy hair cut
Yup lots of times i find better results when i use my hands to tell hair how much i wanna cut off visual affect will actually let you hairdresser see instead of just guess
O YEA!!!! i have to sit there and dictate at the damn people b/c they dont listen. I thought it was only my hairstylist but i guess not!

If the hair dresser dyes my hair, will it fade less fast?

I'm considering having the hair dresser dye my hair, instead of me doing it. I figure it will fade less fast if I have a professional do it.

Any thoughts? If the hair dresser dyes my hair, will it fade less fast?
Most of what they use is available to you if you go to Sally's.

You can also restore fading color in between root touch ups by using semi-permanents.

The only benefit of using a hair dresser is that they probably know a lot more about color than the average person and they will give you a more professional result - not longer lasting color (unless the color you use is crappy drugstore box dye).If the hair dresser dyes my hair, will it fade less fast?
No, because they use special products.

How can I describe this style to my hair dresser?

I can't print out a picture so I'd like to know how I can tell her this is what I want:

    http://www.connectstores.com/wigsrusltd/images/Destiny2832HMScd.jpg

Should I just say layered with a side fringe? Any details of what I can describe are appreciated. :)

Thanks for your help. How can I describe this style to my hair dresser?
thatss exaktly how my hair is .. but i have natural black hair.. anyways tell her you want some layers and side fringe ! exaktly what u told us !.. but tell her how short you want ur layers and the side bangs!

How can I describe this style to my hair dresser?
just say very long layers and a very long side fringe, make sure you tell them you want your fringe kept really long because they might not leave it that long

How can I dump my hair dresser?

My hair dresser is one of my friends and I will feel extremely bad not going back to her but she isnt doing a very good job anymore....ive been going to her for the last yr %26amp; 1/2 but she doesnt get close enough to the root and its all uneven and I pay her really good $$ and I just feel like im not getting my $$ worth anymore and would if I went somewhere else....what should I do?How can I dump my hair dresser?
asdfHow can I dump my hair dresser?
OK girl.. if this is the most important decision you will face this year your doing good! LOL IDK you cant ever argue or get mad if you lose fair and square on a job due to money or job performance. I personally would explain to friend that you went some where else because you where in a financial bind, or just wanted to save money! than tell her the next time, that you where happy with the CHEAPER hair cut so .........

MONEY AND PERFORMANCE SWEETY. PS AND IM NOT GAY! still cant believe I answered that LOL
Try talking to her, after that if it still doesn't work out then tell her you want to try something completely different and you want to go somewhere else!
    You could go a round about way of telling her... Goes something like: ';I hate it when i go to a salon to get my hair dyed and they never get down to the roots... And I pay good money for that too!';
Tell her that you appreciate what she does but you would like to get someone else to take a 'fresh look' at your hair - someone who doesn't know you because they will see you from a different perspective. Don't tell her you don't like what she does, be tactful but say that you fancy a change.

She will probably be a bit 'miffed' but she'll get over it.
If she's your friend, she'll understand.

But if you really don't want to hurt her feelings, ask if she can do a better job.

I know what you mean, one of my friend's moms cut my hair and she did a really bad job. Thank her frequently and tell the truth! It'll work out fine in the end! (:

    Hair colour help..hair dressers please?

i have been dying my hair for a number of years now and i always use loreal - dark brown. because i have been using it so much the colour has built up and is going dark. problem is i like the originalcolour of it. if i was to use a lighter brown on my hair would it go gingery?Hair colour help..hair dressers please?
using a lighter colour could make it look awful because it will not be strong enough to lighten properly. It would be best to use detoxifying shampoo or dandruff shampoo for awhile which will help strip out the build up of colour before you dye it again. The best way not to get build up is to dye only the roots then comb it through your hair for the last 5 minutes.Hair colour help..hair dressers please?
Try using a color one or two shades lighter than the color you want.
No unless the brown is more of a redish-brownish than yes. If you stick to neutral plain brown your hair won't be gingery or orange.

Alot of people with dark hair bleach their hair and then dye it the brown color they want but they never get that result at first cause the bleached hair combines with the brown and it blends in so it sticks out as more of a orangish brown.

I want to bring back the bangs from the 1980's- early 90's that a lot of women had. the feathered lookin bangs swept to the side. kinda like dj tanner from full house! or the blonde model chick in the Warrant-Sweet Cherry Pie video.

    Hair dressers??? color hair?

i want to put like a rinse in my hair just to add like some red to my color but i want something that will not in any way cause any harm to my hair to even dry it out.. something temporary too.. is there such a product?Hair dressers??? color hair?
Just make sure you keep it dark...it looks good on you!Hair dressers??? color hair?
    There are a few products.

Ink Works is a temporary dye that just lays over the top of the hair follicle so it doesn't break the cuticle and cause damage. (This would be used more for color in specific areas.)

ARTec is a shampoo and conditioner that can stain the hair but can also be rinsed out in a few shampoos. (This is usually for an all over color.)

Email me if you have any questions on using either of these products!
Manic Panic lasts for about three weeks and won't mess up your hair, but it can be really bright, depending on your hair colour. If your hair is already fairly dark it could just give you a hint of red or a little more, depending on how long you leave it on.

You could use henna, you can get varying shades of red and brown and it leaves your hair shiny, but I'm not sure if it would mess up your hair at all.
Around here there is a-lot of products like what your talking about just go to your local hair supply they should have this ......
well...i dont know where u live....bt u can always use sum natural colours...and mix to different ingrients..to make a power so that u can apply it on ur hair wid water
try hair-manic ..they should carry it at a Sally's beauty supply store
    No, there isnt.

  • Hair dressers only??

hello, i was wondering have you ever came acros a customer who wanted to get their haircut, but they had head lice? what did yo do? thanksHair dressers only??
There's nothing wrong with that. I had several friends and customers that I had to help get rid of head lice. It wasn't bad its natural. If your scared just go to your local drugstore, purchase a shampoo for head lice, wash your hair and then head over to your stylist. Trust me she will never know. A lady called me about a question like this a few weeks ago. I told her if she was embarrased just wash her hair with a medicated shampoo for head lice and then come see me. She did exactly what I said. She came into the salon got her hair fix, then called me and said thank you. Up to this day I still don't know who she was.Hair dressers only??
Yes, its happened many times... But when it happens we will not cut the hair, and usually suggest the products that will help them get rid of lice.
Yes I have and this is a problem. You tell them that they have it. Ask them if they want you to give them the treatment or reschedule.
yes its happend a few times

its fine we just tell them and advise them to use our special shampoo for head lice

    xxxx
I had this happen in beauty school. You need to stop what you are doing and tell her you cannot finish the cut shampoo or what ever you are doing untill it is gone. Suggest RID. But for you you need to wash everything in bleach ASAP! and anything that you touched! Be very carful you can pread this easily

Is there a hair dresser out there that can help?

Do you use some kind of acetone on hair?and is it a differ ant type in hardware store.if so i need to find the name and where i can purchase some?Is there a hair dresser out there that can help?
Typically, people only use acetone in their hair if they're trying to get a previous hair dye color out. If that's what you're trying to do then go for it, but i wouldn't just put it in for the hell of it.

Acetone is not exactly the best thing for your hair.Is there a hair dresser out there that can help?
its different than what you get at a supply house. why would you want to put it in your hair?

I want blonde hair this weekend but cant afford the hair dressers help!! ... ?

and on all the hair dye pakets it says let the other couler come out before putting anything elce on it beacuse u see i was realy blonde and about 5mounths ago i dyed in brown (perminent!) and i wanna go back blonde can u think of any good hair dyes that will do the job ? thanksxI want blonde hair this weekend but cant afford the hair dressers help!! ... ?
If it was just brown with no red in it than you don't need to bleach. you can use a platinum blonde dye. I like herbal essence leaves my hair feeling great after words.I want blonde hair this weekend but cant afford the hair dressers help!! ... ?
How about getting blonde highlights at the hairdressers, it is cheaper than getting a full colour, it will make your hair a lighter brown so when you do dye it blonde then it wont be such a drastic change.

I need hair help. Hair dressers, and other.. help.?

I told my mom i want to get a single purple streak in the back of my hair. Im not emo or anything im preppy and shes like, '' you'll have to bleack your hair, and then you'll have to keep dying it!'' IS THAT TRUE? will i have to bleach my hair? IS THERE TEMPORARY COLOR??I need hair help. Hair dressers, and other.. help.?
There is temporary color. If you put it over your natural color it might just look like a purple tint or a little uneven. If you have blond/light hair it will probably look a lot better, if you have dark hair it will be much less noticeable, sort of like purple but only really visible in the sun.

You might as well try it with your natural color first. It might look a little weird or dullish but probably not too bad.I need hair help. Hair dressers, and other.. help.?
You have to bleach your hair where you are going to have the streak so it is a solid color. If you don't,the dye may come out uneven and it wouldn't be a solid purple
pretty sure ma frnd is getting blue streeks nd shes is gonna have to get to white before she can dye it blue ( her hair is originally a brown colour ) nd she is not emo

Ne hair dressers on ere?? help!!?

i have really frizzy hair and its curly but i like it straight and when i go to the hair dressers they make it so soft and straight and luvly they use this spray stuff thats in a orange bottle does ne1 know what it is lol?Ne hair dressers on ere?? help!!?
its called swarfega (well, that comes in an orange bottle)

try it and see!!!!!Ne hair dressers on ere?? help!!?
i too have frizzy and curly hair... i use ghd hair oil which helps me when i am straightening it. After its straightened run the blow dryer making sure the nozzle is facing downwards and have it on cool air... this would create a nice healthy shine to your hair and it will stay straight longer.
You should ask your hair dresser normally they will sell you the products the they use!

For all you hair dressers out there...?

how much money do you think it would be to get my hair like this:

    http://cdn.buzznet.com/media-cdn/jj1/hea/a>

i love her hair so how much would it cost for the color, highlights, cut, and extensions? For all you hair dressers out there...?
it depends how much hair you have now and what your current color is. you might need a couple colors to get the correct highlights and lowlights in her hair. assuming you need a complete cover overhaul, that could run you about 150. the cut could be another 30. the extensions would need to be custom made for your head and colored to match, and depending on how many you'll need, the quality of the hair (synthetic [i do NOT recommend these] or real hair, or virgin hair [the best in quality as it has never been processed]), and whether you have them sewn, glued/bonded or if they're clip-in, could range from low hundreds to about $1500 bucks.

i'm calculating these costs based on the relatively decent salon i work at (not extremely high end like vidal sassoon or anything, but certainly not a super cuts or something of that sort). your best bet is to visit a salon for an estimate. also make sure you are hooked up with a level 1 stylist who has plenty of experience with color and extensions. good luck! For all you hair dressers out there...?
it depends on many things like how long ur hair is...if they have to cut it..how many extension pairs they have to use on u...depends on ur color too.. if ur hair is blonde its kinda easy to get that color but if its black ...mmm... ill cost you a little more...

    plus the highlights...
probily about a hundred depending were you go by the way most of her hair in that pic is extentions then they photo shoped it.

How to find a good Hair Dresser?????

My aunt is hairdresser but she's a bytch. She doesn't like me and whenever i need to fix my hair and my mom calls her and she always says no. But if one of my cousins call to come in on the same day she's suddenly available. So i wanna know how to find a good hairdresser to fix my hair.

ThnxsHow to find a good Hair Dresser?????
Ask any friends for references would be the best.. If not, find a reputable place and try them out. The only way to find a good hairdresser is having them do your hair! Usually if you don't like what they did then you can have them redo it. Again it depends where you go.

    Good luck!

i love your hair! but your peircings kinda scare me.otherwise youd be pretty hot.
why dont you just show your hairdresser the picture so they understand what you want?
Print the picture and bring it to your hair stylist! That'll give you the best results because they have EXACTLY what you want in mind!
i have a hairdresser in longbeach.

its a mullettttt. get over it. you want a mullet.

ive cut friends hair like this before.

    cut:

    choppy cut

    razor sharp[straightner]

    thin at the ends.

    shortest layer =.5-1inch.

if you straighten your hair and thin it out at the bottoms

    you can accompliiish this

you probablyy dont even need a cut! :]

Can you tell me the name and address of a hair dresser in Atlanta, Ga?

Next week my husband and I will be moving to Atlanta and I like to have my hair done but don't know where to start looking for a hair dresser. Any suggestions. Can you tell me the name and address of a hair dresser in Atlanta, Ga?
Take a hard look at The Salon of East Cobb in Marietta. I've been going there for about 10 years and have been extremely satisfied. They do great styles, cuts and color work has been excellent (and I have a lot of gray to cover!). www.thesalonofeastcobb.com

I've recommended them to a number of my friends, etc., and just about everyone that has tried them, have stayed...so they must be doing something right.

    1230 Johnson Ferry Road,

    Marietta, GA. 30068

770/321-1043Can you tell me the name and address of a hair dresser in Atlanta, Ga?
    Hey,

It depends on where you are moving to in Atlanta. I have a name of a stylist who did my hair really nice, she does Eye Lashes as well. If you would like, reply to me on here and I can e-mail you her contact information..
    go to googlemaps.com.

From there, you can type in your exact address. It will pull it up on a map with a text box that says ';search nearby';.

Type ';hair stylists'; in the box and it will list them all with reviews, directions, etc.

Cosmetology School! and hair dressers.. ECT?

    Two things..

One is, Do you need to take SAT's to get in usually?

I may take them anyways.. even if I dont need to.. just to see my score.. but I'm just interested if you HAVE to..

also.. what does a successful hair dresser make a year?

Working for them self? And also working in someone elses shop!?

Thanks so much!! :-)Cosmetology School! and hair dressers.. ECT?
Nope. To enter, Cos. School, All you need is a HS. Diploma or GED.

What a hairdresser can make a year, depends on where they work, If they are in a City, or a Small town, Whether it's a Big Salon, Small Salon, Cosmetology School..It ranges. (Yeah, Kinda rambling, cause I have no clue how much a Hairdresser makes within a year...But it does depend and can range.)Cosmetology School! and hair dressers.. ECT?
No SAT is needed I'm going as a half time student while I'm also in high school through a vocational program

As far as money it really depends on area and clients :/

Hair delimma (?) experienced hair dressers only please..?

i am natuarlly dirty blonde..today i decided to try a rinse by natural instincts--spiced tea--it looked like auburn in color very pretty..well oh my god i am glowing orangey red..i tried putting natuaral instincts sahara rinse hoping it would tone it down and i've used this in the past but this time nothing but a shade red lighter..so then i tried revelon sandstone permanet which i have never done b4 but i do not like the red and need help badly, mind you i am now on my 3rd treatment within hour or so of each other, so the end result is i am still red orange but moreso orange, my son who just walked in said did i do this for halloween?? so of course i said yes..please help in recommending if anything i can get with brand names included..i know the rinses take about 2 weeks to wash out but being i also topped this with only 15 min of permanet coloring not the 45 it suggested ..what can i do i am not a baseball cap girl..i have presentations to make next week and i am ready to cry. ..Hair delimma (?) experienced hair dressers only please..?
Ok, don't freak out ok! Try a darker shade of semi perminant hair coloring, I am thinking light brown, and after you wash it a couple times, you will be as good as new!Hair delimma (?) experienced hair dressers only please..?
What ever you do, do not add another color to your hair or you will end up with a head full of straw!!!! Condition as much as possible and pin it up. Technically you are suppose to wait 2 to 4 weeks maybe before you put treatments in your hair. Sometimes after we color it the color seems overwhelming but with daily washings it calms down (color fade). my advice is as I've stated before condition as much as possible and for your presentation if you don't want to wear it pinned there is alway a trusted wig. (sorry for that).
Seek a professional!! You are going to keep damaging your hair!!!
you need to go see a professional quickly. continuing to reprocess on your own will be far too damaging. you need to have the color stripped (NOT bleached) and then toned to your natural color, or desired color.
you need to go see a professional immediatly! you should have done that after the first color because they can use something that strips the color out...but since you put in 3 diff colors (which btw your lucky your hair isnt falling off) they might not be able to get back to the original color. if i were you, if you are not in the mood to go to a professional i would wait a few days (i know i know you have to stick it out tho or you will *seriously* damage your hair) and then buy a boxed dye that is a darker brown color..because no other blonde or red will cover it up, it will just keep getting weirder as you go along. im sure it doesnt look that bad, its easy to judge yourself

    URGENT, question for hair dressers.?

can you use regular aluminum foil to wrap your hair in while bleaching?URGENT, question for hair dressers.?
normal tin foil is fine.URGENT, question for hair dressers.?
you could, but keep a close eye on it, my cousin did it to me and mi highlights turned a copper ish color. it was kinda kool tho. its better if u use the regular hilite strips tho
umm not sure may be or not go to a hairstylist and let them do it./
ya you can i do my moms hair but make sure you keep a good eye on it and make sure you fold it gently and not to tight. if its ur first time i suggest that you have someone come over and help you or you pull it through a cap or if you don't mind about spending money then have a hair dresser do it for you, good luck!!

  • Survey how regularly do you goto the hair dressers?

every 10 weeks or so, when the ends start to look bitty.Survey how regularly do you goto the hair dressers?
Maybe once every 3-6 months. I never dry my hair or anything like that.. I just shampoo, condition, brush, and let it dry. I love curly hair.. it's so low maintence. :)

When I used to straighten it every day, though, I went about once every month or two, because I had horrible split ends.Survey how regularly do you goto the hair dressers?
well i just went yesterday but i usually go only one a year to get my hair cut for the spring/summer, i like my hair shorter for the hotter months and longer for the colder months
not very often. i have curly hair and all i have done is a trim to the dead ends and sometimes straightened or conditioned and shtuff. so yea. :D :D
Every Thursday since i'm working at NVQ level 1 hairdressing.

And sometimes, once every 2-3 months, depends if i can be asked.
i go every year when my hair gets long again and i dont know what to do with it anymore.

and when i get a new hair color!!

thats how long it takes me to decide what to do with it
it's hard for me to flat-iron my hair by myself, b/c it's so thick, so usually i go for a wash %26amp; style every other week. (:
not often i buy salon hair products and do everything or home with great results..i might go maybe once a month or once every two months for a trim or coloer treatment other then that i do everything myself =]
Every three months.. Growing hair out.
i goto the hair dressers once or twice in 4week or sometimes, once in 6 weeks.
I go to the hairdressers every week to take my mum, to have my own haircut about every 6-8 Weeks.
About every 5-6 weeks to get my roots done because unfortunately for my wallet, my hair grows WAY fast! My hairdresser told me she has clients who come in every three months for their roots- I am jeal ;)
For fun? Every vacation [5 times a year]. for like 5 times + each

To cut my hair, 3 times + a year!

I like my hair short, but not too short, shoulder length!
Probably every three or four months. When my hair is driving me crazy and I can't take it anymore.
I've just been today but I think she got a bit carried away while we were gossiping lol!

It's a bit shorter than usual. I go when I need it done : )
Once every 3 months. Unless there's a special occasion..
Probably around a month. Not by choice though...
i work in a salon, so every day.. lol

but i get my hair done at a different place, so i'd say every 6 - 8 weeks
Every 6 to 8 weeks or when ever I feel like I need a haircut.
2 or 3 times a year and I trim my own side fringe once every couple of weeks. Colour my own hair at home.
Every 3 months for a trim and deep condition. :)
I go to the hairdressers once every 2 months :)
    Every six weeks
Every 3 or 4 months, to get it cut. I think I will let it grow now, for a while, tho.
At the most 2 times a year. At the least never...
    every 6-8 weeks
    4-5 weeks~
Every 6-8 weeks to get the dead ends cut off.
about every 2/3 months or when I can afford it
    every coulpe of months
    never.

    Question for hair dressers.?

Im a guy with very short hair, but want to get highlights. I was wondering if you can still get highlights even if your hair is only like 2 inches on the top.Question for hair dressers.?
its possible but would look better if you had a bit more lenghQuestion for hair dressers.?
Yes and that usually looks really hot on a guy! Don't get alot though if you want the different colors and your hair to be mainly your natural color!:D
yeah thats a good length if you get it done at a pro's
yup its possible... its called ballage i cant spell it its some french word but basically they paint it straight on to your hair and it makes it look more natural but if you really want tips like most guys get you will need it to be a little longer but it will still look good

Are cosmetologists/hair dressers considered ';college graduates?';?

On my Myspace page I have my pet peeves listed. One of my pet peeves is when people claim to hold advanced degrees that they have not earned. I used cosmetologists as an example. I also stated that I find it irritating when people claim to have gone to graduate/professional school when they have not. An example that I have seen recently with this is with someone that went to culinary school. I'm not trying to be haughty or arrogant and I certainly don't want to act superior to others.

Feel free to view my page in the ';about me'; section. A friend of mine, a cosmetologist, was quite insulted by my comment. She does feel that she is a college graduate because she is licensed by the state and put in hours and took out loans to complete her program. Bridget's comment is located in the comment section of my Myspace page.

    http://profile.myspace.com/index.cfm?fus/a>

So, my question to you is, ';Are cosmetologists college graduates?';Are cosmetologists/hair dressers considered ';college graduates?';?
No. College implies a 2-year degree at the least, and usually means a 4-year degree. A graduate or professional degree means you have a masters, PhD, JD, MD, or DDS. 'Graduates' of beauty schools and chiropractors and chefs are not considered college graduates. That's more like a technical degree, like a plumber or mecanic. Are cosmetologists/hair dressers considered ';college graduates?';?
Cosmetologists hold a vocational certificate that enables them to ply their trade. They are not college grads unless they have actually GRADUATED COLLEGE. Does your Friend hold a degree (BA, BS, MA, MS)? If not, she is not a college graduate. This may feel bad to him/her, but if it does, she/he is welcome to go to college and earn the title of college graduate.
Not by a long shot. It's your friend who's acting haughty. I have the same pet peeve, only as to people who think if they have a career that makes them professionals. The legal definition of professional confines that term to law, medicine, accounting, dentistry, engineering, and architecture--that's it. The list does not include teachers for example, yet you hear a lot about the teaching profession. A teaching credential is a minor degree requiring no advanced education.

Its really precise how i want it and ive seen lots of people wih it out and about but it would be weird to take a pic of a random person so i was wondering if anyone has or can easily get hold of the sort of hair i want...

    Thanks

xI want my hair doing blonde but i need pictures to show my hair dresser does anyone have any pics?
my hair is dark brown, almost black, and I got heavy blonde highlights. they use a tipping cap to pull the locks of hair that you want blonde thru it, then they bleach the stuff that is pulled thru the cap, leaving most of your hair dark. this works the same way if you're blonde already, they do it the same, then color your dark highlights in. It looks really cool, and I really like it. :) I spent 10 bucks getting it done in my living room, just go get a box. it's over 50 bucks if you go and have it done... email me if you'd like a picture. :)I want my hair doing blonde but i need pictures to show my hair dresser does anyone have any pics?

try and search on photobucket or google search or yahoo image search. You might find something.

Have you ever paid alot of money for a hair dresser to style ur hair and ended up with bad results?

does paying more mean you will get more in quality?Have you ever paid alot of money for a hair dresser to style ur hair and ended up with bad results?
I think, in general, its a safe bet that going to a salon where you pay more and that seems more professional is better than the run down Great Clips on the corner. The more pricy, professional place is going to have more skilled stylists, and more time to talk to you and more incentive to figure out what you want.

That doesn't mean that every single time you go there you're going to get great results. It depends a lot on how well you communicate with the hair dresser, and the hair dresser herself. We've all had that horrible experience at the salon, no matter how expensive it was.

The worst experience I've ever had was at a salon at the mall. I'm not sure how much I paid. I brought in a picture of a blonde girl in, and I ended up with a head full of black hair. How this happened I had no idea. I think there was some miscommunication somewhere lol. I went to another salon to get it bleached out and ended up doing major damage to my hair. It sucked, but I learned to be less vain about my hair. Its just hair! It'll grow back... but that's a hard lesson to learn as a teenager.Have you ever paid alot of money for a hair dresser to style ur hair and ended up with bad results?
nope alot of the time the places that u thought will be the best turn out to be the worst and vice versa.. but it really all depends on the stylist, make sure to tell him/her exactly what kind of style and look ur going for and exactly what u want ur hair to look like, i recommend bringing a picture from a magazine or off the internet. and also try to read the reviews on the salons ur thinking of going to
no paying more doesnt mean better quality. AT ALL.

for my senior prom 2 years ago i went to this really nice hair salon and paid 70$ for my hair style. when she was done and i looked in the mirror i absolutly hated it. walked out balling my eyes out because it looked so terrible.

after that i took it all out and went to master cuts and she fixed it and i absolutly loved it and only paid 30 for it
    who hasnt???

I found the best way to tell the hairdresser what you want is to take a cut-out from a magazine or newspaper and show them, instead doing the whole ';do you know what i mean'; and be bighting your fingernails as you watch her do something you dont want, and your too ashamed to tell her.

to this girls light brown hair?

do i just bleach my hair, and then buy some light brown hair dye and dye my hair????Could i dye my hair like this without going 2 hair dressers???10 points?
Don't bleach it. You could just find a color of dye you like and it will show you on the box how your hair would match up. You could even go a little bit lighter than you'd like it since your hair is dark, and it would probably be close to how you want it. I suggest you go to a salon if you can, it's never lasted when I did it myself.Could i dye my hair like this without going 2 hair dressers???10 points?
YOU get it from a store and you can do it your self and they have all kind of colors

    Expensive: CHI/ Matrix ( fave) /Bed Head
By far the best I have come across is PureOlogy. See http://www.pureology.com. It is very expensive and should only be purchased from a salon to ensure you get the real product. Target and drugstore.com sell it, but there are no guarantees if you buy them there.
try sunsilk it has all different types of shampoos and conditioners for different purposes
Fekkai works great. you can get it at Sephora

  • I feel for Ellen Degeneres with the dog thing, but what was TMZ doing @ her hair dressers home if not staged?

Keith Urban proved he's a great person for performing even though Ellen was a no show. What do you think: staged or not? Why would TMZ cameras be at some hairdressers home when they came to get the dog back? Were they tipped off?I feel for Ellen Degeneres with the dog thing, but what was TMZ doing @ her hair dressers home if not staged?
The whole thing was staged. There is a tape of her lawyer threatening the animal shelter before she went on her show. I don't doubt her emotions, but this whole thing would never have happened if people who've gotten too big for their britches would do things the way us 'ordinary' people have to, and I'm not just talking about Ellen. The lawyer for the shelter has emails from the hairdresser's family refusing to come in and fill out paperwork when asked. They probably could have the dog right now if they had done what everyone else has to do. Hollywood has a way of making its residents believe they get their way and you cry about it publicly when you don't.I feel for Ellen Degeneres with the dog thing, but what was TMZ doing @ her hair dressers home if not staged?
Yeah I was wondering about that too ......I am now beginning to think it was staged too........but I still feel for the family

I hope this all comes to an end soon...
i thought it was all staged for plublicity for the animal place

this sort of stuff happens just before the end it's a sign that Ellen's days on tv are numbered
I think it was staged, and it reflects poorly on them that they would do all this and try to strong arm the rescue group into returning the dog rather than going by the rules. I read that the woman was even willing to let them complete the adoption application online, but the daughter complained that it was too long. This poor woman can't even operate her business because these loonies are threatening and harassing her. Shame on Ellen, her publicist and anyone else involved in this mess.
OF COURSE it was a big performance for the camera, I am sure they felt bad, but come on they had the dog only 2 weeks. For the animal agency's efforts to make sure the dogs are placed in good homes etc.... this is the thanks they get death threats, harassing phone calls all because a celebrity (no matter how nice) felt they don't have to be held to contracts like everyone else. I think this was not a good thing that Ellen did.

I was wondering about how often i should go to my hair dresser to get my hair trimmed and shaped up?

Since im letting my hair grow long i wanted to ask this. I am not sure what my goal is yet but i think ill keep it at the current length for now.I was wondering about how often i should go to my hair dresser to get my hair trimmed and shaped up?
About every 6 weeks, or everytime you see your haircut is lost.

Although, since you are thinking about layering it, when you see your hair starts to loose shape get it trimmed and make sure to tell your hairdresser that you want it just trimmed so it goes back to your current lenght.

Basically, get it trimmed if you feel your haircut is lost, or if you have split ends or something like that, that might make it not look at its best.

Good Luck!I was wondering about how often i should go to my hair dresser to get my hair trimmed and shaped up?
just every once in a while...since your growing it out just do it when you notice a lot of split ends and stuff!!
If you just get a little trimmed off every 6 weeks or so, it'll stop the split ends.
every 3-6 weeks depending on you hair type also how fast does it grow ? but be careful sometimes hairdresser cut too much off
    I go every 3-5 weeks
    Every 6 - 8 weeks.
I keep my hair about chin length, like the avatar shows. When it looks like it may start dragging on my shoulders, if I don't get a hair-cut soon, I go in and get a trim/cut.

So we're suing hair dressers now?

My gf passed me one of her magazines last night and it had a small advert on one page saying that if you had been given a bad haircut you should contact them, they specialise in suing hairdressers for damages!

Now I've had my share of bad hair cuts, some of which were my own design, but I have never considered suing my hairdresser (even when she once took a tiny part of my ear off).

Are we heading for America's 'sue 'em till their bankrupt then go after their kids' approach? So we're suing hair dressers now?
Well, if it makes hairdressers a bit more careful, then some good's come out of it. But in reality it is helping to create the same kind of ';sue em all'; society that we see in the USA. I think we need limits and it's down to the courts to make sure they only find in favour of sensible, genuine claims. It's the only deterrent. So we're suing hair dressers now?
It's becoming ridiculous now. We are being encouraged to sue anyone for the silliest of reasons just so that we can line the pockets of these legal firms. I had a very dodgy haircut a few weeks back, I went to a salon and was given a new girl who couldn't speak English to cut my hair, so obviously explaining to her what I wanted was nigh on impossible. But it would never have even occurred to me to take legal action over a haircut!
not here. Here in the UK, it's sue 'em until they've slapped so many regulations, terms, conditions, waivers and fences that you can't even walk past a hairdresser without a license or permit of some sort... and you have to pay 5 times the money for the padded walls and floor, and wait 5 hours while they remove any potential traces of nuts.
I've had a few accidents at the hair dressers. They have usually been put right (to a fashion) and eventually all grew anyway.

There are too many 'no win, no fee' litigation businesses cropping up everywhere you look. It is encouraging many people to make bogus claims. I know of one woman who has claimed twice against drivers who have hit her car. She has claimed for whiplash but has never needed to take time off work. She has just nipped to the doctors to register her 'injury'. Many people are being encouraged to do this.

By the way, what is the statute of limitations on the hairdresser claims? I had a shocking colour job some years ago and looked like a goth for months. I wonder what that would have been worth.
A trip to the hairdressers for some women can cost a small fortune especially if it requires colouring. If they provide a service and profess to be professionals then that service should be of an acceptable standard (as with any service) and if they fall short they should take the consequences.
We,ve been there a while now, i spoke to two fireman who were painting a plate in the floor where the water is and they said they have to stand gaurd until the paint dries because people delibrately stand on the paint and try to sue them
Fudging el, whatever it takes init, i heard the other day that ant from ant and deck is being sued because an american comedian has the same name, my goodness theres thousands of people with the name ant, a names a name fudge me lighten u americans
I think we are, That's stupid and i know if the tv is on in the day the majority of adverts are for stuff like that.
Probably. You can find a lawyer who will sue anyone just to make a few bucks.
Yep. Thank the bleeding heart, wringing handed liberal intelligentsia for that.
    Yes - its ridiculous!

time a bit of common sense got back into our society, this sue em brigade need to have a reality check
    I'm off to the solicitor's.
Sadly we follow the Americans on too many things and look what happens.
they make a fortune ... if they mess up they should pay
    That's pathetic!

Saying that I'm going to the hairdressers this afternoon so I might need that number....
That's it, I'm suing my mum...she used to give me really bad hair cuts!!!
Doesn't this just make you mad? I didn't know that we had started doing that. How could you prove that you asked specifically for one thing and were given another? If I owned a hairdressers, I'd be installing CCTV.

We are definitely heading for America's sue em culture. Don't you just hate that advert where a woman says ';I slipped on the wet floor and there was no sign up so I sued them';. There was no sign on the door telling her not to walk repeatedly into it until she broke her nose either, but she managed to do that without being told. It is just an excuse for the plebs of society to ruin life for everyone else by hiking up insurance costs and therefore making everything more expensive.

Why can we not take responsibility for our own actions anymore? If YOU don't look, or pay attention, why should anyone else pay for your stupid mistake? Rant, rant, rant!

EDIT: To the weirdos who have said ';it's only right'; or that type of thing.

    1. Did you take in an exact picture of the hairstyle you wanted, but were given something completely different?

    2. Did they explain what they were going to do, given your hair type etc, but you turned a deaf ear in the hope of making money?

    3. Did you know that hair grows? You have not been left permanently scarred or disfigured, it's just hair for goodness sake!

    AAAAAGGGHHH! FREAKS!

All hair dressers, please answer this!?

Im work on my school news paper and im writing about the top celebs of 2008. Rihanna is one of them. I was just wondering, if you got a lot of girls asking you to cut their hair like her? If so, how many girls did you think you cut this year alone?

thank you for your time. All hair dressers, please answer this!?
paris hilton because it is so nice looking but yet it is short, light, and you can do anything with it. I have had an infinite number of girls ages i would say 12-20 ask for that because it is such a cute baby doll look.

How do you tip a hair dresser, who owns their own suite in a salon?

Depends on how much time they spent on you, I would say $5 is always good

What do I tell the hair dresser to get this hair stlye?

i want this cut but what do i tell them when i get it cut?

    http://www.hair-styles-secrets-revealed./a>

thanksWhat do I tell the hair dresser to get this hair stlye?
Yeah just take it and show it to them. What do I tell the hair dresser to get this hair stlye?
Just print out the picture and take it to your hair dresser.
just print out the pic and bring it to them and they'll do it like that
bring the picture to the salon with you and ask the hair dresser to cut it slowly so they dont take off too much at a time. (they tend to do that) also ask him/her to show you how to style it
take a picture with it with your fone, then show it to her, or print it out at the library

  • How do I lighten lowlights that are too dark, my hair dresser got them too dark and I ask for lighter ones.?

today I went to the salon had lowlights and highlights put into my hair I specifically ask for a lighter color of lowlights to be put into my hair because I still wanted my haircolor to be blonde, but my hair is darker now than before I went to the salon..and my hair does not even look blonde anymore....I am very unhappy with the color...what can I do to make the lowlights lighter? How do I lighten lowlights that are too dark, my hair dresser got them too dark and I ask for lighter ones.?
honestly, i wouldnt mess with it chemically. it will fade. instead of doing one shampoo each time you shower, shampoo twice. even if she used permanent color it will surely fade. How do I lighten lowlights that are too dark, my hair dresser got them too dark and I ask for lighter ones.?
Wash your hair tonight with a stripping shampoo, like Prell.... It may be a little dry for a few days, but just make up for it with a little extra moisturizing time for the following week. That should strip a little of the color out.
?WHAT? WHAT IS A LOW LIGHT? IS IT LIKE A LOW LIFE?
put some bleach and comb it thru the low lights. Dont put too much... that should do the trick

How can i get my hair to look like how the hair dresser styled it?

my hair is about 1 inch shorter than my avatar's hair. (you cant see the whole picture, so ill give you my 360 page.)

I want my hair to look thick, smooth, and straight. How should i blow dry it?

My hair is normal-thin and frizzy. How can i get my hair to look like how the hair dresser styled it?
Reality check: You won't be able to style it like the hair dresser did! Why? Well aside from the fact they are trained professionals with all the correct products to hand, they have a distincy advantage: they have two hands available, a full view of the back of your head, and easy access to it! You on the other hand, are reaching to the back of your head when your arms are at the front, trying to utilise a mirror to see what you are doing, as well as then doing everything back-to-front because the mirror is guiding you.

On to some suggestions here though:

After shampooing, apply a deep nourishing conditioner to your hair, twice a week, for 15 minutes. Most will suggest you only use this once a week, but because your hair is fine %26amp; frizzy, it needs more moisture. Only apply this from the nape of your neck right down to the ends, otherwise the top will end up nasty and greasy. The ends however will be more dry, more prone to frizzing, and therefore requires the smoothing moisture.

After this, towel dry your hair and apply a small amount of mousse to the lengths. Only a small amount is needed as this will just act to 'set' your hair as you dry it straight.

Separate your hair into sections, starting from the nape of your neck and working up your head. Using a paddle brush to keep tension in the hair as your dry, follow the brush down the length of your hair with the hair-dryer, making sure the air is blowing down the hair shaft, therefore smoothing further. After each small section is dried, apply a TINY amount of a smoothing serum from the midlengths down to the ends to protect the hair from moisture in the air making it frizz and to provide a protective shiny coat. Too much of this serum and your hair will look like you just washed it in a MacDonalds vat of french-fry oil. I find cheaper products like Frizz-Ease to be very oily and bad for your hair, whereas something like Kerastase Oleo-Relax is designed for 'smoothing controlling care - dry and rebelious hair' so exactly what you hair-doctor ordered!

Finally, once you are totally done, get one final thin film of the serum on your hands, and smooth very, very lightly over the top of your hair, just to sop those fly-away strands on the top.

And voila! You're done. Hopefully you should now have some lovely straight, shiny, protected hair. It may not be exactly the same as the hair dresser, but this routine is quick, practical and will look good on a daily basis rather than you having to spend hours and hours trying to accomplish something rather near the impossible!

But hey, after a few attempts at the above and a bit of practice, you should learn to understand your new style and the best means of styling it so that after not too long you should be getting closer and closer to that hair dresser style!

If all else fails, buy a pair of GHDs.... but that's a whole other story!!

Good luck! How can i get my hair to look like how the hair dresser styled it?
ok straighten it with a conair straitener they work the best but before that use sunsilk pink and apply it all through your hair then straiten theis will get all the frizzys out of your hair. then put it in a high very high ponytail then cut 3 inches off it will lyer your har for you and kae it cute (thats how pros style ur hair) it will look sexii and guys luv it oh and if you dont have blonde hair u betta dye it before you take my advice blonde is so hotter !!!!!!!!!
    Blow dry it upside down
run throught it with a hair brush slowly with the blow drier on top so while you are brushing it straight you are drying it at the same time

    Hair Dressers In MA???

I think that my hair dresser does a amazing job on my hair but I really just don't like her or the place that she works at. I want to find a place in Massachusetts maybe in the suburbs, that will have nice people with a decent, clean place. It's so hard to find those kind of places. There is one place in Andover, Ma that does a great job on my mom's hair, the thing is...my mom is italian so her hair is very straight and flaky. I am mixed so my hair is puffy, course, and has very tight curls that get tangled and matted very easy. Does anyone know a place in Ma that can help me and provide good service? Does anyone reccommened a place???Hair Dressers In MA???

Hair stylist/ hair dressers!!!! color ?

i dyed my hair black about 5 months ago and i want to dye my hair a really light brown and possibly some blonde highlights for this summer. i just want to what the process my hair has to go through? does the black color have to be stripped or can it just be bleach over and then colored. how much will it cost???Hair stylist/ hair dressers!!!! color ?
if you bleach your hair it will go orange, and make the brown you put on top be really brassy. it would be best to get the black striped out, adn then the brown put on. the blonde highlights will have to be put in after the hair has been stripped, and then toned.

you are probably looking at about 80-100 dollars, only because it has to be stripped, adn because the highlights will make it cost more.

good luckHair stylist/ hair dressers!!!! color ?
well, i say u can dye over it and it may possibly cost about 89-100 dollors but it depends on your hairdresser call 330-8004
you will most likely have to bleach your hair and then dye it light brown. if you want to see what it would look like upload your pic to www.taaz.com and try on all kinds of hairstyles and colors!!

What is a typical hair dresser's schedule?

I am really considering going to cosmetology school. I am a mom, and I want to know the pro's and the con's of the schedule! What is a typical hair dresser's schedule?
with this profession you pretty much decide your schedule, your clients will have to work around your schedule that's whats so nice about being a hair dresser (you definitely need to open on sat. for the party's)What is a typical hair dresser's schedule?
my hairstylist works out of her garage,,,,,how easy is that? If your good enough,,,people will go out of their way to find YOU! GOOD LUCK sweetie!
the schedule is busy busy busy busy busy... First off... unless you are a manager/owner of a salon.. there are no vacation days.. (unless you get a very prestigious salon with lots of money) anyway... For hairdressers, there is no set time on when to come in and leave.. well for me... I come in the morning and leave when the last client leaves.. that could be 6pm, 7pm, 11:30 pm... its random... no two days are alike and there is always something new to learn in hairdressing... usually salons are open tuesday through sunday but that depends on the salon..... Some days the salon will be super busy and others it will be completely dead.. so dead you wont even hear the buzz of crickets and grasshoppers.... (lol) anyway; I love the salon business its wonderful even if it is a pain sometimes... but i have such a passion for it that i dont care i stick with it... GOOD LUCK ON YOUR DECISION
hi well I have been a hairdresser for over 15 years and now own my own salon, it can be very hard demanding work for not a lot of wages, expect to be on your feet all day, some night school as well, keeping up with different techniques and styles and cutting, expect clients who show you a style of a celebrity and don't have the hair to do it with, apart from that I love it, you could also do cruise liners etc when qualified the world is your pair of scissors depending on how creative you are, do some work part time helping in salon to get the taste of it first
    monday- off

    tuesday-7:00am -6:00pm

    wednesday-7:00am-4:00pm

    thursday-7:00am-7:00pm

    friday-7:00am-3:00pm

    saturday-off

    sunday-off

so you wont get tired of cutting hair you could like switch out cutting hair and doing nails or even makeup and this schedule is also goodbecause u have kids
Most hair cutting places don't work mondays to my knowledge
I, too am a mom and have recently graduated from cosemtology school and at present I am now working in a salon...I am full time and I work Tuesday thru Saturday...our salon is open 7 days a week..I love what I do but starting off there are definitely alot of SSSSSSSSSSLLLLLLLLLOOOOOOOOWWWWWWWW days where you may not have one client in a 8 hours time slot but then ther a re days when you are hopping from client to client and you cant even run to the ladies room..but it is alot of funa nd you never stop learning and remember family members are always models :-)
Most salons nowadays are open 7 days a week. I started off sometimes working shifts that were 10 days, 14 days and even 16 days straight. That was the busy times and when I was new. Sundays sucked to work, but I did them for two years and now I don't anymore. I didn't have 2 days of in a row either. This is making it seem bad, but really its probably the first year that is, but after you get some clientelle and a bit of seniority, it gets better. When you start it truthfully is LONGGGGGGG 8 hour shifts of maybe one or two clients and LOTS of cleaning. All I can say is try to start at a place with lots of walk ins so you can build your business. They will refer their friends and family to you and it grows. After that initial year, you are busier, usually get a decent shift, and some flexibility in your schedule to take some time off. Now I work Tuesday to Saturday 9to6, and one late night till 8pm.It actually isn't that bad. The one thing I would consider is that with your kids, the evening and saturday work might be a problem with their after school activities and such. I am not a mom myself, but i know lots of the moms at work have missed lots of soccer, hockey games, dance recititals and such. It wouldn't be a huge problem if you state before you even start your job that you would like flexibility with this sort of stuff, but in your cese, it is a personal decision. I know that when i have kids that i will be cutting my hours to see this type of stuff. It does get better as time goes on. Once you have an established business, you can chair rent where you pay for your own product and everything (you would be self-employed), but with this you pay a monthly fee and you decide on your own hours. This would only be done once you have a clientlle though, without one, it might be hard to make your payments. I have gotten busier in the last couple of years, and my cheque has definatley reflected that. i work for someone, i don't chair rent, so once I bring in a certain amount of service dollars every month,my commission goes up. It definatley pays off. you can be as busy and as rich as you want to be, it depends on how hard you want to work. I absolutley love the business, I can't picture myself doing anything different. It can be stressful at times, but most of the time its fun. i find that I am better friends with my clients now more than anything. hope this helps you out!

what she was doing. the blond said it was keeping her alive. curiosity got the better of the hair dresser, she accidently knocked it out of the blonds hand. apologising she had to have a look before handing it back to the blond it said breathe in breathe out.A blond was in the hair dressers she kept looking at this piece of paper and folding it the hair dresser asked

Ok honestly, if you're going to tell a joke, make sure it is one that makes sense and make sure that it isn't directed at anyone. This sounds like it is making fun of blondes.

Can hair dressers do this ........?

my hair is light brown with blonde slices of hi lights but i want to go darker but keep the blonde bits.. is there any way they can colour my hair whilst keeping the blonde not dyed and kept blonde? or would this be impossible? thanksCan hair dressers do this ........?
Yes, it's called lowlights. They will put panels of dark brown through out your hair like highlights. Can hair dressers do this ........?
Of course, they would simply add low lights to strands of your natural hair colour and avoid dying the blonde strands.
Most likely, as your hair dresser.

    Perfesinal hair dressers?

i have no idea what this even means.

    This is for hair dressers?

Can you go to a hair dresser and them straighten your hair with a straightoning iron?

im 13 with reallly curly hair and i hate it, and i always wear it in a braid because i am very athletic but i want to see what my hair looks like straightednd so can they do it there with an iron then if i like it buy and iron? Can you go to a hair dresser and them straighten your hair with a straightoning iron?
you can go to almost any hair salon to have it straightend, i did that , it cost only 10 dollars , but the price all depends on where yu go . if yu don't like yur curly hair %26amp; like how it looks straighted , yu should get a perm that will keep yur hair straight up to one year ! hope i helped :)Can you go to a hair dresser and them straighten your hair with a straightoning iron?
    Ya you can!!

theres two that you can get

u can get it permanently straighten if u really want straight hair or just temporary which will cost 30-50 depending how long and curly ur hair is.

getting it permanently straightened will damage ur hair and it will go curly again after a year or so but ya. i get my hair straightened often too and its really great :)

    good luck
Yeah, def! They will do it for you it'll be about 30-40 dollars.. It will probably be with a GHD!

You should buy one they are expensive but worth it. I've had mine for 2 and a bit years and it's the best thing that I've ever bought.

    :)
ofcorse they can...it will cost money tho for there time.

trust me i have reaaaly curly hair and always use a hair straightner.

like every day...i know its bad but yeah just ask them how much it would be for them to straighten your hair for you.
yes they can straighten it with a flat iron. also if you hate your curly hair, dont wear it in a braid. that only makes it even more curly.

  • Hair dressers please answer!!!?

I want a hair dye that isn't terrible for my hair. One that my mom would use too. Please help me.Hair dressers please answer!!!?
Okay, you will want to use a semi-permanant hair colour that has no ammonia. I would reccommend going a shade darker than your current colour because adding pigment to your hair also adds lustre and shine. Your local beauty store would carry such products! :)Hair dressers please answer!!!?
If you have a Sally's Beauty Supply you might be able to buy color there. Clariol Professional works ok. Word of advise don't ask the girls there about the color they are NOT stylists!

What are the benefits of becoming a hair dresser?

im thinking about going to cosmetology school and want to know the benefits behind it! im still young and have not yet decided what i want to do with my life and thought maybe doing something fun like hair and make-up wouldnt be so bad! i really dont want to be in shool for a long period of time becasue im really not a school person and i have already checked out the paul mitchell school and seems like alot of fun! What are the benefits of becoming a hair dresser?
Becoming a Cosmetologist can be one of the most rewarding careers in this world especially if you like working closely with people. 1. You help people to look their best! So you help people feel good at some of the darkest moments in their lives.

    2. When you are well trained you can help a person to tranform to look like they had never dreamed and this can be very rewarding to you as well as them.

    3. School does not take long usually one year and a few more months if you wish to become an instructor. School is lots and lots of fun.

4.You will have a little more command of your time and finances.

    5. If you love your clients, they will love and reward you!

Good Luck!!What are the benefits of becoming a hair dresser?
I think a major benefit is that you will have learned a 'trade'...so you will have a skill that you can take anywhere with you....although you said you wouldn't mind doing something 'fun' like hair....im sure it can be, but if you talk to working stylists they will probably tell you it's also very hard, tiring work...I think you should talk to actual people working in the industry so they can give you honest opinions of the pro's and con's and you will have a much better idea when you decide if you want to pursue this career, good luck :)
there are alot of benefits.especially if you are good at it.and if you find a good place to open your stand.like a good salon to have a station in.i have a sister in law who works as a cosmetologist and she makes bank for sure.it all depends on how good you are and if you have good social skills.but it is good money.
Hairdressers tend to develop bonds with their regular clients because they break through the 'personal bubble'. People often tell their hairdressers about their personal life or stories about them.

It is also fun styling hair. The customer's satisfaction will also make you very happy.
benefits can include meeting new and exciting people. you can start to build your clientele and learn a new exiciting career.

    Hair dressers needed.........(10 points)???????????

what are some salon quality products that you would reccomend to your customers for soft, healthy hair. i have heard that shampoos like pantene and head and shoulders only damage your hair.Hair dressers needed.........(10 points)???????????
I would recommend All Soft Shampoo and Conditioner by Redken, also by Redken try Real Control.

That's what i normally use on my clients, recently I started using Aquage and i really like their vitalizing shampoo and de-tangling conditioner.

They are both more expensive than store bought shampoos because they are salon quality. They are both natural and safe for color treated hair, both lines have sublines that will have a category best for your type of hair. The thing i like about the aquage is it's make with seaextend.Hair dressers needed.........(10 points)???????????
Yeah, using bad quality shampoo will completly strip your hair of it's natural oils and dry it out. And to make things worse you hair, upon realising it's drier than usual will produce more oil to compensate. In the end this will cause greasy roots and dry, brittle ends. Not good :[

Salon shampoos are generally milder and much more gentle on the hair, but I'm sorry I couldn't recommend any because I've stopped using chemicals on my hair, I wash mine with honey and vinegar. (don't knock it till you try it, its better than any shampoo I've ever used)

    Take care :]
I'm not a hair dresser but my best friend is. She recommends for me Tresemme, Mark Hill and Tony %26amp; Guy products. I dye my hair every 4-6 weeks and have done since 2005. I straighten it 2-3 times a day and my hair is in perfect condition.
