Starting up a mobile hair & beauty business?

My cousin is a fully qualified hairdresser and beauty therapist who is considering going mobile. I was wondering if anyone had any information about what it would entail - Would she have to have a special license in order to visit and work in people's homes? Would she have to register her business if she was earning under 拢600 per month?

Any information would be really helpful. Thanks!Starting up a mobile hair %26amp; beauty business?
Fabulous idea! I've seen mobile estheticians in the news so this is a great off shoot. Good luck! Take a look at the link below, the article provides tips on business licensing %26amp; permits, taxation, and most importantly how to obtain free business coaching.

in the UK ?

Tell her to visit Business Gateway who offer free support, advice and Information for anyone considering starting up a new business

They'll guide her all the way with all she needs to know

Also, depending on personal circumstances , the job centre can also help,

They give small grants to new businesses, offer support and Various other financial assistance, again I stress, based on personal circumstances

My husband has just started a small business and was helped by both Business Gateway and the job centres business support advisors
Assuming she's in the UK, her local Business Link is a great source of free help and advice on starting her business.

Even at 拢600 a month or less, she needs to register her business with Inland Revenue within 3 months of starting.

She'll need good insurance - public liability in case of damage that her property causes to anyone else's while she's on their premises and probably professional liability in case of a customer suing for turning their hair green.

If she has CRB clearance, it's something to add to why people should choose her but it's not essential.

Other than that, she needs a reliable car/van - have her business name and contact number on the side of it - reliable kit, with possibly spare drier and tongs and away she goes.

Good luck!
