How much should you tip a hair dresser?

I know they don't depend on their tips to get paid like a waitress does. Is there a certain percentage that's expected? Having no idea, I probably over-tip to compensate.

Hair Dressers do depend on their tips though, maybe not as much as a waitress but they still only make maybe min. wage so it is a hugge help!

I go with 3 dollars, but for yourself, get a reasonable price and affordable for your family. Don't sit there and do the math. Sit down one day and figure out the amount of tips that you will give no matter where you go. ex. Restaurant , Hair Salon, Nail Salon, Subway, Blimpie, etc etc.
My boyfriend get his haircut for $16.00 and leaves $3.00 in tips. Last time my haircut was $84.00 . I left $!00.00. I was really unsatisfied I didn't even want to stay in the salon for a second and I had only one bill
like $5 at the most
