Any hair dressers?

I am seriously considering taking cosmotology... and this is my question: How much are you making on average working as a stylist at typical salon? Thanks!Any hair dressers?
Stylist generally dont make much. Like $15,000 on a good day. Its a fun job but by no means is it a money maker. I do it part time and am back in school. Go a different route in my opinion dont waste your time and money.Any hair dressers?
It totally depends on the rate of commission or hourly. Just starting, if you are commission only, you will not be busy, and if you don't do clients, you don't get paid. A beginner starts at minimum wage. You may get 10-12,000 your first year, with about a 1500-2000 a year increase as you go. Another reason you don't make as much at first is your prices are lower.

Question: Do you have a passion for hair and think about it all the time? Then do it. Money depends on many things: commission or booth rent, location of salon, experience, clientele, and where you live. I would suggest an apprenticeship because you really only learn the basics in beauty school. And it takes the average stylist around three years to build up a clientele.
It depends on whatt kind of hair stylist you are.
It is a whole lot of fun. Sorry but I can't say how much I make because I don't work in a typical salon. My mom and I own our own business in our own shop.
