Being a Hairdresser myself - you have to do nothing - no preparation at all for you.
If you are one of those people who wash their hair daily - go ahead and do it.
The process of dying hair is to open the cuticle of the hair shaft and then strip and add colour back to it. Yes, nearly all permanent hair colours first remove colour and then replace.
After you have had it coloured I recommend that you do not wash it for at least 72 hours - 3 days. This allows the hair to dry completely and the cuticle to close - thus holding the new colour longer.
For aftercare use a colour safe shampoo, they are softer on the hair and help to prevent Colour loss.
Hope this helps.Getting hair dyed at the hair dresser for the 1st time-How to prepare?
Hey I've been getting my hair bleached and even normally dyed at a hairdresser for 5 years.
Don't worry about the state of your hair at all, even if you wash it that morning. However i wouldn't recommend that because they give your hair a nice wash and dry anyway :P if it is greasy go with it greasy, if it is washed from the day before go with it like that. As professional hair dresses they should be able to dye a person's hair properly without considering something so minor as to when it was last washed. Just go with it whatever because at the end of the day it's your money they want and a service they're providing you so they want to get it right. if it was such an issue of when you last washed your hair i think they'd let you know when you booked :P
Anyway there is really no 'tips' to give just go there tell them what you want and away you go. Oh and NEVER be afraid to tell them you don't like it because it's your hair you have to live with it and you've paid f/n good money for them to make it look nice. If you do say you don't like how it turned out then they will do it again free of charge because as a business they need to keep their credability and they're used to it.
anyway good luck x
dont wear make up unles you want a streak on your forehead. DO A 24 HR TEST !!! to make sure you arent allergic to the dye the salon uses. wear an old top incase any of the dye gets on ur top and rub vasilne on your forehead ear and back of neck as it helps remove dye easily. an last but not least take a good book magazne etc it can get borning and enjoy. dont use conditioner if you wash your hair before going as it can stop the dye taking to your hair
You've got the right idea, don't wash it for 24 or more hours before dying.
If your face skin is very dry and likely to ';grab'; the dye, put a bit of lotion on it at the hair line. Other than that, your good to go.
wash your hair, so its clean, they're qualified, they know what to do, and how to prepare your hair.
nothing special needs to be done.
have fun (:
x
Not washing your hair keep extra oil on your hair to protect it. Stick with your usual dying routine.
you don't have to do anything different from your everyday routine..... Wash your hair, lol
