How much do you tip a hair dresser?

If you just get a shampoo and haircut?How much do you tip a hair dresser?
if the hairdresser does a good job and did what you asked them to do, a $5 - $10 tip will do fine. A lot of hairdressers do what they think will look good on you. My niece went to get her hair done black with red highlights and came back with light brown hair with highlights.....obviously...we did not tip that day...and she cried all the way home.How much do you tip a hair dresser?
the standard protocol 15%,but it all depends on the final results,and your budget,and the service you had,;if you really like it and love-it the way your hair came out,tip-it the way you want to,and don't forget to tell how much you love your new image!!!

i tip my barber $10.00 because she is a very pretty little half mexican and i mean she is pretty and sexy.
I've always tipped closer to 20% (especially if the stylist has done a fabulous job, spent a lot of time on my hair, maybe squeezed me in at short notice, and/or didn't spend to much of her time chitter-chattering with others).



If it's just a trim, I tip closer to 15%.

I generally stick to 15% or more. Never less than $5, if your shampoo/cut is less than that, you've got bigger problems than tipping!!



Since I suck at math I usually figure 10% then toss in an extra dollar or so depending on the service.

If you are at a salon...I'd go 15%, if you really like the job he/she does you can do more. Like you would for a server in a restaurant.



If you are at a 'Supercuts' type of place where the cut only costs 12-15 dollars, I'd give him/her at least 2-3 dollars.

I usually tip about 20% or even a bit more depending on how good of a job the hair stylist done. Last time I got my hair cut ($30 dollars) I gave her an 8 dollar tip but I really liked the new 'do!

If I get my hair highlighted I usually give between 15-20 dollars depending on once again, how I like it, and how much time and effort was put into it.
