I want my hair to have the choppy look but still tie it up. How do I tell the hair dresser what i want?

My hair has some lawyers, and it's in a U shape from the back. I want it so that when i straigthen my hair or not it's looks choppy...and feels thiner.I want my hair to have the choppy look but still tie it up. How do I tell the hair dresser what i want?
i actually have the hair style you're talking about. what i ask for is a shoulder length cut with layers and side bangs. however, i also ask them to razor the front of the cut and make the layers choppy. (no joke. i ask them to make it distorted). they may give you a funny look at first because its not ';polished'; but it feels lighter and looks great when straightened!I want my hair to have the choppy look but still tie it up. look for your style of what u want on the internet end print it and shoe it to the hair dresser and he/she will know what to do.
tell them to tie it up and chop it off
thinning sissors!!
Just tell the hair stylist exactly what you just said.
i have really choppy hair and i cut it myself. just tell her of he that you want it really choppy and or just a lot of layers cause i have hair that looks like http://s203.photobucket.com/albums/aa231/emo18828/?action=view%26amp;current=SWEETIE.jpg and i can still put it up

Your hair has lawyers?!
tell the hair dresser that
get steps done.....when u tie them they will fall around ur face elegantly
Find a celebrity with a similar hairstyle to the one that you want and show it to the hairstyles. In fact, find a few so she/he cannot mess it up.
find a photo in a magazine with a woman with a hair style you like, and show it to the hair dresser.
You want a layered long shag and leave the length.Leave the top layers kind of long enough to tie up also.Say like Ashlee Simpson.
