Whats that hair dresser tool that sortof scrapes away hair?

My bangs are very dense with hair and one time the hair dresser used some sort of tool that she used to scrape some of my hair off with, it was sort of like a cheese grater.





Can anyoen give me teh name so next time i get a hair cut i dont say '; can you use the scraping tool to make my hair less dense'; ( unless ofcourse, that is its true name )Whats that hair dresser tool that sortof scrapes away hair?
