How much should i tip my hair dresser?

i go to the hair dresser once a week to get my hair straightened it costs me $35 to get it done, i usually tip about $5, is this an appropriate amount? also a different lady washes my hair, do i tip her? if so how much?How much should i tip my hair dresser?
The standard for tipping your hair dresser is between 15-20 percent. Since you are going to her once a week, $5.00 is completely acceptable... if you were only seeing her, say once every 3-4 months you could tip up to 25%.. but since you're a regular customer $5 is plenty.. the shampoo lady should get $3.

yes it's an appropriate amount? both of them they try to help u they give u a service without washing ur hair u cant make ur hair the style that u want when u tip ur dresser u have to tip who wash ur hair. u have to appreciate eveything...
perfect amount. usually its 15% which in your case is $5. i don't tip the person that washes my hair. there's no realy skill needed for that and it's only 2min max.
$5.00 or more is right. You should give $2.00 or $3.00 to the shampoo person
