What do you tip your barber/hair dresser?

If a hair cut is $14, how much should I tip? I usually give 20% in resturants, so I've been giving $3. Does that sound right? What do you tip your barber/hair dresser?
Yes, I used to give about $8 for a haircut of $32. It was more than 20%, but I did not mind rounding it up to $40.What do you tip your barber/hair dresser?
if you are tipping,

the rule of thumb is the lowest tip baseline is taxX2, somewhere around %17 or %18.

Appropriate tips for barbers and hair dressers ususally runs five % higher or more, depending on the job done.
Yes, that sounds great. A haircut here is $18.00 and I give her $4.00. I am a hairdresser also and we really appreciate the tips people give! Follow the same rules that you would for restaurants-10-20%. The better the service, the higher the tip.
i think you should give them what you think they deserve. if you like what they, then be as generous as you want.
Yes, $3.00 is just fine. Anywhere from 15 to 20% is great. That is if the service is good, of course.
Tipping should be outlawed. Like charity giving.

It's all a sham.

Think about it.
I give him tips like 'look both ways before crossing the road', or 'be good to your mother'. He gives me bad haircuts, so I suppose we're even.
