Has anyone had their hair dyed in the first trimester without having the hair dresser touch your roots?

I was just reading some articles and is says not to do that in the first trimester and I was worried because I just had my hair dyed and I'm 8 weeks pregnant.Has anyone had their hair dyed in the first trimester without having the hair dresser touch your roots?
its more the fumes that u inhale wen getting ur hair dyed or it getting in2 ur blood stream i had my hair bleached n dyed when i was 18 weeks preg

honey, just do hi lights, like a Blonde and if you want darker, do a low lite like a brown
I asked my doctor and he said unless the fumes make me feel sick there's no problem. I got my roots re-bleached at 9 weeks and so far everything is fine. =)
I had mine done yesterday at 5 weeks. The manager did it and she said it is fine and that she does pregnant women all the time. She said there can sometimes be a reaction with the hormones making the colour funny but no worries about it affecting the baby. I had it done in the morning and there weren't any fumes. I hope she is right anyway! I just got highlights so there wasn't a great deal of it touch my scull.
I had my hair dyed every four weeks my entire pregnancy by my pregnant hair stylist who also got her hair dyed regularly. We both had the ok from our docs, and suffered no problems as a result.





Don't believe everything you read online. The web is a breeding ground for the perpetuation of old wives tales and misinformation. Anybody can post anything they want. Talk to your doc about concerns like this or make sure you're dealing with a reliable source, i.e. a government health or hospital website.
It is not recommended because while scientists haven't found any definitive link between hair dye and birth defects, they still don't know for sure. It is believed that your scalp does not absorb enough of the chemicals to make a difference. But it is still recommended that you don't dye your hair in the first trimester. I wouldn't worry about it, just don't do it any more this trimester and ask your dr what he/she thinks about hair dye in pregnancy. I died my hair in my first trimester because
