HAIR CRISIS!!! ALL HAIR DRESSERS HELP ME! (or not) How do i make REALLY TIGHT TIGHT TIGH ringlets in my hair?!?

I really want TIGHT TIGHT TIGHT ringlets in my hair. I bought a small curling iron but that did work at all. Everyone told me to just put more hairspray on my hair but all that does is make my hair dirty and goes even more flat. So DONT tell me about a curling iron cause it just wont work. I want my hair to look like this:

That is a wig. The longer your hair is, The more it is going to pull down. You should try rag curls or pin curls(Shirley Temple got her tight ringlets by rag curls.)..They will curl your hair up alot...But since you have long hair, Your not going to get those type of curls, since like I said about, The longer your hair, The heavier, and more it's going to pull the curl down.HAIR CRISIS!!! The only way to make hair curlier is to either scrunch it (if you already have curly hair), use an iron, or get a perm. I would give the iron another try. Take extremely small sections and first spray them with a very firm hold spray. Make sure you let your iron get hot first and try 1/2 '; to 1'; sections depending on how thick your hair is. If that still doesn't work, the next best thing to do is to schedule a blowdry lesson at your salon if they offer it. Many stylists will charge slightly more than the price they charge for a blowdry to go through step-by-step how they are styling your hair. Just call up and make sure they understand what you are trying to do and they should be able to help.
