Cosmetologist, Hair Dressers, Experienced Persons, Advice Please.?

I am a black female. I just cut my hair 2 days ago. It is now about a half inch long. My natural hair is really curly and kinky. I did this to rid of the relaxed ends. I heard that it was the best way to transition to natural becuase of the damage, breakage and shedding that would occur.

What advice, tips and warnings could you give me to help in my process of growing my hair so it can be thick, strong and healthy? I would much rather here from liscensed persons or those who have been through the process or are presently going through it. I want to here about the good and the bad if you can do so.

Also, I have been thinking about dying it a color to compliment my eyes and my skin tone. I am like a butterscotch/caramel color, with dark brown eyes and dark brown hair. What colors will compliment me? Should I go with permanent or semi-permanent dye. Or should I just get highlights? Is it a good idea to dye my hair? Will dying damage it, etc.

Thanks 4 reading, and answering!!Cosmetologist, Hair Dressers, Experienced Persons, Advice Please.?
do not color it. Color will damage your hair... and it will not be the strong and thick hair you hope for. If you must dye it.. use a demi permanent dye only. A good brand I like is the Clairol Color Gems. You can get it at Sally beauty supply.

Stay away from the relaxers. They are the single worst thing anyone can do to their hair. Just take good care of it. Wash it maybe only 2-3 times a week, so your hair can build up those natural oils that do help your hair, and if your going to be heat styling, with a flat iron or other, make sure you use a protective product. I like the Paul Mitchell Super Skinny Serum.
